Debra L. Morrison is “The Expect the Unexpected Speaker”, and a Seasoned Money Coach, with 40+ years of personal financial planning and asset management expertise. She earned both her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and her Masters of Science in Retirement Planning from the College for Financial Planning, and also obtained her Accredited Estate Planner designation.

She’s passionate about people planning for both the expected and the unexpected. Her wit & wisdom is evident in her easy-to-understand speaking style. She laces her financial prowess and strategies with humor and every-day analogies, breaking complex financial concepts into bite-sized nuggets (long before bite-sized learning came into vogue). She engages her listeners to view money as a tool, and take their next steps, financially speaking, to become more empowered about their futures.

Debra provided one year’s worth of pro bono financial planning and investment service for seven widows, one widower, and one 12-year-old orphan who lost their breadwinner/parent in the 9/11 tragedy, and delivered the eulogy at two clients’ funerals.  Debra cares, deeply and truly, about her clients – not just their money, but their well-being, happiness, and fulfillment in life.

Armed with decades of experience working with couples & singles nearing retirement, she has authored 3 books, Ms. Morrison’s Dictionary of Useful Financial Investment Terms, Common Sense Money Guide For Women, and Amazon Best Selling, My Husband Died, Now What? A Widow’s Guide to Grief Recovery & Smart Financial Decisions. She is a Certified Grief Coach, and an accomplished, sought after international speaker.

Debra has been featured on CNN, ABC, MSG’s Metro Money and CNNfn, and quoted in WSJ, USA Today, Nation’s Business, The New York Times, Ladies Home Journal, Business Week, Family Money, Investment News, Journal of Financial Planning, Money, CNN Money, Financial Advisor and Reader’s Digest. She is listed in Marquis’ Who’s Who in Finance & Industry & Who’s Who of American Women as well as Nationwide Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Business.

Debra was an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and was honored as a 2011 Leading Woman Entrepreneur and Business Owner of New Jersey.
